Loudness metering, but beautiful.

A reference-grade loudness and spatial analyser — from stereo to 9.1.6, as a plugin or standalone. Accurate enough to sign off on, and worth keeping on screen.

Measured, not claimed

Beautiful metering. And brutally accurate.

EBU R128 allows ±0.1 LU of measurement error. Every Cota metric sits well inside the published tolerance, on every release — so when Cota reads −14 LUFS, you are at −14 LUFS, on Spotify, Apple, YouTube or broadcast.

Momentary max error 0.04 · limit ±0.10 LU
Short-term max error 0.04 · limit ±0.10 LU
Integrated max error 0.06 · limit ±0.10 LU
True peak max error 0.17 · limit +0.2 / −0.4 dB
Loudness range max error 0.05 · limit ±1.0 LU

Bars show worst-case error as a fraction of the EBU tolerance. Shorter is better — every measure lands far inside spec.

Inside Cota

Metering you will actually want to look at.

Reference-grade numbers, rendered so you can read them across the room.

Loudness

Read your loudness at a glance

Know you are on target without reading a number.

A 300° contour gauge with integrated, short-term and momentary LUFS, loudness range and true peak — and a glowing over-target warning the moment you cross the line.

Any screen is a monitoring station

Watch loudness from the sofa, not the sweet spot.

Cota serves its meters over your network, so a phone, tablet or any browser in the room shows the identical bytes the app renders.

Minimum system requirements

These are floors — what the machine needs, not what Cota uses. It is a meter: it sits on a session all day without asking much of anything.

Mac

macOS 13 (Ventura) or later — Intel and Apple Silicon

Windows

Windows 10 or later, 64-bit

Memory

4 GB RAM

What the machine needs, not what Cota takes — a meter’s footprint is a small fraction of it.

Storage

500 MB free

Plug-in host

Any host that loads AU, VST3 or CLAP

Cota also runs standalone, with no host at all.

Activations

Two devices per licence, in any combination

Two Macs, two PCs, or one of each — and the plug-in and standalone app on the same machine count as one. Sign out on a device whenever you like and its activation frees up straight away, ready to use somewhere else.
