Orbit Lite is officially available for macOS.

We’ve talked about it, teased it, and now it’s here. One app, one job — load an ADM file, see the waveform, and listen.

What Orbit Lite Does

Orbit Lite is a lightweight ADM player. Load an ADM BWF file, and it plays. That’s it. And it does it well.

Drop in your file, pick an output mode, and press play:

  • 7.1.4 Multichannel — direct speaker output for immersive monitoring setups
  • Binaural — headphone monitoring using the Orbit Studio HRTF, designed for natural spatial imaging with a built-in bass shelf for comfortable listening
  • Apple Spatial Audio — Apple’s own spatial rendering engine, the same pipeline behind Apple Music and Logic Pro
  • Stereo Folddown — a clean stereo downmix for quick reference checks

You get a detailed waveform display, clean routing, and reliable playback. No object inspectors, no PDF reports, no complexity. Just the fundamentals, done properly.

We’ve also added a few touches to make the experience more enjoyable — themed waveform colours and metering to make the app feel good to use, not just functional. Why not?

Why Orbit Lite Exists

Not every session needs a full QC suite. Sometimes you’re a composer checking a delivered master. Sometimes you’re a broadcast engineer verifying a file before playout. Sometimes you just want to hear what’s in the ADM.

Orbit Lite is for those moments. Open the file. Listen. Move on.

At £29, it’s the simplest way to play back immersive audio on your Mac.

macOS Now. Windows Coming.

Orbit Lite is available today on macOS.

Windows support is in active development. Orbit’s architecture requires a dedicated UI layer for Windows — we’re building it properly rather than rushing a port. We’ll share more when it’s ready.

Orbit Lite vs Orbit

If you need object-level analysis, loudness metering, head-tracked binaural, custom HRTFs, PDF reporting, or binaural WAV export — that’s what the full version of Orbit is for.

Lite opens the door. Orbit goes deeper.
